Before and After : Vintage Bassett Lowboy 10-Drawer Queen Anne Style Dresser

I. Am. LOVING! The gorgeous bold, vibrant color of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Greek Blue. It is such a lovely, clear blue, and a total knockout/standout color for any accent piece! When I bought the paint, I was told that it was very popular, but some people seem to have trouble with it. The only thing that I can seem to line up with this idea is that the paint looks a little lighter/whitish when you distress it, but by dusting off the surface and wiping with a damp, lint free cloth, the clear and gorgeous color returned to those areas. So just be sure to clean off all dust before you seal your piece!

Doesn't the gold hardware seem even.. well, gold-er? ;) The updated color definitely makes the hardware stand out and appear more golden and radiant. Also, I frequently find that the hardware screws over time have difficulty holding the metal firmly in place, often when the wood has been worn back over time. Often you can put a washer between the head of the screw and the back of the drawer to help it find a solid grip! This can help prevent damage to the front of the wood surface as well.

Before and After : Vintage French Provincial Side Tables

These gorgeous French Provincial side tables were a fabulous find! I decided to go after them with a layering dry-brush technique, and started with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Olive, followed by Greek Blue and French Linen. Then I came back in with a chippy paint brush and put on a little more of the Greek Blue, particularly to the leg and trim details. I sealed them with clear and dark waxes for a gorgeous antiqued look.

Aren't they beauties? I am just loving the subtle color variations! They will be a perfect complement to any decor! I'm always looking for new ideas - what are your favorite color combinations?

Before and After : Blue Chest of Drawers

Here is the first in what I hope to be many projects over the next year that are for my own home! This grand chest of drawers is truly stunning with its new facelift - Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Greek Blue, followed by a wash of Olive, then distressing and waxing.

The serpentine tops and carved details get me every time! *swoon* And I'm always loving the blues. It seems that every time I go into the paint store, I tell myself I'm going to get something TOTALLY different.. then happily buy a new blue or gray. I'm not much for New Year's Resolutions, but this year I'm hoping to try one new color per month!

Here the lighting is different as well, but just look at the STRIKING difference before and after wax. On the left, I have Greek Blue with an Olive wash (super diluted with tons of water, painted on, then wiped off). I then came back and distressed gently before applying the wax).

Both Greek Blue and Olive were new to me, so I'm well on the way :) . Here's a Color Story - Inspiration behind this stunning piece! A clear blue Montana sky with vibrant barn. This is actually my aunt's backyard. What a paradise - wish I could wake up to that every morning!
